Dr. Rao and the staff at Dentists on the Square greatly exceeded my expectations. When I first visited Dr. Rao, many years had passed since my last dental checkup, and I was dreading being yelled at for letting so much time lapse; however, when I confessed this to Dr. Rao, he didn't even flinch and was never condescending about it in the least. He is great at explaining exactly what he is doing and why, and continually checks my comfort level throughout procedures (if I need a break, water, etc.). You can tell he is passionate about his work and he always seems to be in a good mood; his attitude definitely rubs off on the staff and hygienists, as I have yet to encounter anyone there that wasn't attentive and friendly. Plus, I have yet to wait more than 2 minutes in the waiting room before being seen. Overall, you can tell the office is run very efficiently and everyone who works there actually wants to be there. Numb as I may be, I've never walked out of there without a smile.

I've been to many dentists throughout my life, and must admit, often dreaded the experience. This led to me not visiting the dentist for four years at one point. I was lucky enough after this four year gap to make my first appointment with Dr. Rao.

While he strongly encouraged me not to skip four years again, and pointed out I had a few cavities, he did so without making me feel like I was in kindergarten. He explained why it was important to visit twice a year, and made a few simple suggestions. He was jovial, friendly, and I felt like he actually cared; he definitely was not just reading from a script or phoning it in.

I've been back to him ever since, never missing a scheduled appointment. I've come to even enjoy the visits to the office.

Another big plus: I don't have children. I'm married, and while my wife and I don't have a problem with children, they're just not for us. This is an adult practice only, which is glorious. While I don't mind children socially, there are two places I absolutely dread having children around me: an airplane, and the dentist. It isn't there fault, but you can guarantee you'll have an absolutely unpleasant experience if children are around. They also tend to ensure that your 2:30pm appointment actually starts at 4pm.

All my appointment with Dr. Rao have been on-time, or at most, 10 minutes late. They do confirmation my text message, which is really nice. The technology in the office is fantastic, and saves a ton of time, and that is coming from an IT Director.

All in all, I can't recommend Dr. Rao highly enough. I will never see another dentist as l can!
