After a thorough evaluation and diagnosis, Dr. Werkmeister will share your custom-designed treatment plan with you. He will also review this plan with your general dentist.

Dr. James R. Werkmeister received his dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine.
Following dental school, he pursued a post-doctoral education in Periodontics from The Ohio State University, College of Dentistry. While at OSU, Dr. Werkmeister received a research grant from the National Institutes of Health. He used this grant to study connective tissue cell biology as it relates to the development of periodontal disease.

Clean Out the Infection: elimination of infection is frequently the first step in treating gum problems. This is often accomplished without gum surgery.
Fix the Problem: if problems remain after the infection has been eliminated, additional steps may be taken to restore health to your gums and teeth. These are typically minor (in-office) periodontal surgical procedures.
Maintain Periodontal Health: Once your mouth is healthy again, frequent periodontal check-ups and cleanings (alternating with your dental check-ups) is an important part of your ongoing dental care. Additional Services Periodontist
