I paid for a lot of dental work at the Canyon View Dental clinic in Sandy. Dr. Ellingson had a large staff working for him, and they used an impressive digital dental camera to show how my old amalgam fillings had caused the teeth to crack into the roots. Based on this information, I had them remove all my amalgam fillings, do one root canal operation, and they installed several crowns. BTW I ordered non-metallic crowns, but the first one came in metallic. Dr. Ellingson was happy to replace it with what I originally requested, but I had to endure another month of eating only soft food while waiting for it. I hope his technique has improved over the years; I've had lots of aggravation with my capped teeth. I cant floss with regular floss because it frays, cuts, and gets jammed up under the flared edges. GLIDE floss will also sometimes cut abruptly on the edges. One of the caps had to be replaced due to leakage.
