I have just quit seeing this doctor, even though I had been seeing her for 8 years. The staff always annoyed me because they are just barely polite on the phone. Plus, f you have a problem, you can't ever talk to the doctor on the phone because she has a nurse screen her calls. Still, I went because the doctor herself was good...or so I thought.

I had an issue that I needed resolved by the doctor. However, I could not get the doctor on the phone. She has a nurse that acts like a screen, discouraging you from talking to her and attempting to resolve your issue herself. I would normally be OK with this, except this particular time my family physician advised me to do the EXACT OPPOSITE thing that Karen Dias-Martin's nurse told me to do. What does one do when your family doc and a registered nurse tell you opposing advice?

I tried to get the actual OBGYN (Karen Dias-Martin) on the phone, but it was a nightmare. The nurse kept trying to screen me. I tried to explain the situation, but she kept saying I couldn't speak to her. Still, I kept asking to talk to her, about 6 times before the nurse put down the phone and said she'd call me back.

Karen Dias-Martin called me on the phone and literally SCREAMED at me. I don't know what the nurse told her, but she said she was "done" with me. She said I had been disrespectful to the nurse. I didn't know what she meant by that and I tried to explain that she probably only had half the story, but she cut me off mid-sentence. I never got to explain what the situation was, she was so rude. Instead, I promptly asked how I might get my records to change doctors.

I called my mother, who is a nurse, absolutely in tears. She said she'd never heard of such treatment from a doctor and that it was absolutely unprofessional. Why would a doctor SCREAM at a nervous patient just trying to get some conflicting advice cleared up?

The nightmare didn't end there. The nurse who clearly poisoned me against the doctor would not transfer my records to my primary care. She kept calling me to pay $25 even though MY DOCTOR had requested the transfer. I still don't know if my records ever made it to my primary care doc.

I just got a postcard in the mail today saying it's time for my appointment with the doctor. Really? I thought she was "DONE" with me. Whatever the case, I am certainly done with that office.
