Dr. Mancino takes a very thorough and hands on approach. I am very pleased with his care and expertise. He has also referred me to Dr. Andrawes who is also in the same office. Both are caring, kind and knowledgeable in their field of medicine. I would recommend Dr. Mancino in a heartbeat. Very pleased with the care I received..

I have received excellent care and treatment from Dr. Lawrence Mancino since I became his patient in May 2012. Dr. Mancino diagnosed various gastrointestinal issues -- the most serious of which was Barrett's esophagus and a hiatal hernia, long portion. Since 2012 I have had follow-up endoscopies and biopsies taken by Dr. Mancino at first every six months and then every year. Biospies taken on December 22, 2014, by Dr. Mancino during the annual endoscopy were sent to the pathologist for a second look by Dr. Mancio and this was the absolute right decision on his part as the report from the second look by the pathologist was that there were dysplasic cells in my esophagus. I received this information in early-mid January 2015. These dysplasic cells must be removed or they will eventually become cancerous. I was referred by Dr. Mancino to a specialist gastroenterologist, Dr. S.A., who also works at Staten Island University Hospital. I actually had an appointment on January 25th with this specialist, but a heavy snowstorm the night before kept the office closed. I did have the appointment on February 18th, 2015 and I had the first endoscopic procedure -- Upper Endoscopy with Radiofrequency Ablation on March 5, 2015. I had a second procedure on May 7, 2015.
Although the recovery from both procedures was not a piece of cake since I was taking various pain medications, and Dexilant, when I REALLY needed either Dr. Mancino and/or Dr. Andrawes I was able to reach one of them, or at the very least a covering gastroenterologist physician. The one time I did speak to a covering gastroenterologist physician was on a Saturday morning for a medication question. When stated my name and the date of very recent endocscopic porcedure I had had -- that doctor actually said, "Yes I was there." (So he knew the case.) I am now cured, temporarily, at least, from the Barrett's esophagus. I really cannot say enough about Dr. Mancino and also about Dr. Andrawes -- they are both caring, conscientious, and highly competent physicians.
