Doctor Maurice Beer was my doctor back in 2001. He had been my doctor for five years prior and that year he decided to leave his partnership and dump all his patients and staff for Concierge Medicine so he and his greedy wife could be richer than he already was.

While Doctor Beer is a good diagnostician and was helpful to me during the 5 years I saw him, when my mom died in 2001 he was not empathetic at all. I needed him to help me find a shrink I could talk to because he was my primary care in my health plan but he told me that he was no longer my doctor unless I paid him big bucks; essentially what he told me.

He's only empathetic to those who pay him big money. I suddenly realized I did not know this man and I found his attention to money disturbing.
