My husband saw this Dr. to schedule radiation therapy after being told he had cancer in his lymphnode. After making him wait 30 minutes to get into the appointment he was unable to read the original CAT scan and required the assistance of another DR. Dr. Hoffman told my husband they were not positive it was cancer in his lymphnode and they wanted to do a PET scan to make sure. He scheduled the appt. but at no point told my husband it would be unsafe to be around children under 2 years old because he would be radioactive. My husband made sure to let the Dr. know that we have a 7 month old child that he takes care of during the day and it didn't ring a bell with the Dr. and think it was important to notify my husband of the dangers. It wasn't until his mother did some research online to find out the risks. Cancer or anything associated with your health can be difficult. We trust the professionals to give us important information like the fact my husband will have no business around our child up to 6 hours after his treatment. Very disappointing and frustrating. Needless to say we will be getting a second opinion from another Dr. before moving forward with this scan.
