Dr. Alten recommended the NovaSure procedure for me three years ago, and I have had pain and problems ever since. The procedure left excessive scar tissue inside, and I have two hematomas which she is not able to remove because of the scar tissue. The issue of scar tissue was never mentioned before the procedure, and I discovered after that is is not uncommon... failure to disclose is a BIG breach of trust. Now, I am told my only option is hysterectomy, which her office is pushing me to schedule. I am getting a second opinion first, and if I need surgery, she will not be the one to do it.

Dr. Alten delivered my daughter almost 12 years ago and I moved out of town right after I had her. I have recently returned and would love to have her as my Dr. again, but I live in the Woodlands now. I wish she was closer because she was an amazing Dr. and easy to talk to with any issues during my pregnancy.
