What happened to the doctors that cared about the welfare of their patients? Now it is primarily a racket to make money.
Sadly this has become the norm...I doubt that she is worse than a lot of others, and we are all getting used to this kind of thing!

I decided to change to Dr. Callegan because my old doctor is 40 miles away.

I have been taking the same medication for years. Slowly reducing the dosage as the condition improved. Incredibly the insurance pharmacy charges the same amount for each order, regardless of quantity or dosage, therefore I used a pill cutter to reduce the dosage.
When I received her prescription, it was for half the dosage I had been ordering all these years. It doubled the cost.
I called her office several times, she never returned any of the calls. The "staff" assured me that they would rectify the problem.
It did not happen so I called again, eventually 2 weeks later Dr. Callegan returned my call. Her response was that she does not do things that way. I had the feeling that she was treating me like a child. I'm old enough to be her father!

When the prescription was again due for renewal, Medco was not able to contact Dr. Callegan for 3 weeks. They finally contacted me. And eventually the prescription was refilled. The dosage remained the same, but the quantity was reduced. Because the charges remain the same, the cost of the same medication is now 6 times higher.
It seems reasonable that if there are any changes to the prescription, the patient should be consulted.

The doctor patient relationship goes two ways. We obviously do not trust each other to do the right thing.
Probably just as well, I had decided to try stopping the medication. Not wanting to deal with a doctor I do not trust, might be the incentive I needed.

They could work on improving their level of customer service here. It wasn't the worst that I have seen, but overall I left unimpressed. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend them to my friends or family. They were ready to see me when I showed up for my appointment. I never had to wait for them to show up. I wasn't too impressed with their staff. They were decent, but they weren't very friendly or welcoming.

Definitely not; I received the best service ever!
