DO NOT GO HERE TO HAVE YOUR BABY!!! My wife had our child here. As a man standing by my wife through it all I have to say I've never felt so unwanted as I did being here. I really hated the taste of the air when I spoke and was spoken to by the staff. It was like I was some disgusting piece of filth that they had no way of removing and just had to deal with. There was no "Tell me about your experience at mercy" letter for me to fill out as there was for my wife. There was no consideration for me period. Do not have your child here if your man actually stands by your side. He will get subjected to a serious bout of what seems to be some serious sexism at this place. I hate you for that Mercy. That was one of the most emotional times in my life that you came really close to ruining if it hadn't been for my focus on what I needed to be and do for my wife.

Be sure that you are not in a hurry! No one considers 6-8 hours waiting in the Emergency Room unusual. I was able finally to get a doctor on the phone because I played my trump-- I am a Ph.D., so I identified myself as Dr. Ramsburg. Until then, I was on hold. We'll all be billed the same, regardless of the respective doctor's effectiveness. By the way, the tests were inconclusive; doctors are not trained to make a diagnosis.

Despite living in the country with the "best health care system in the world," I received better and more effective treatment (i.e., the problem was resolved)both in France and in Britain where I received "emergency" treatments. It was also faster and, needless to say, much, much less expensive.

Mercy Medical was average, which is to say, way below "the best health care system in the world."
