a very dear friend was admitted here for rehab after surgery she needed to go back to the hospital then she was sent back here. W went to visit and here belongings had all been left in a box never even unpacked.. Physical therapy did no therapy., gifts that were sent by her daughter and had proof of delivery were never given to her.. I brought flowers the next day they were gone. even though she had a DNR they did not honor it. No one made any effort to help her to eat.. we fed her when we got there

We chose this place for a rehab because it had good reviews, but we were sorely disappointed in the care received. On more than one occasions the nurses mixed up the medications and if someone hadn't been there to catch it, damage might have been done. Medications were not given on time, appropriate precautions were not taken to avoid passing the MRSA contamination from my family member to other patients. There was an error made in the orders sent from the hospital and it took 4 days for it to be corrected and my family member to get all his required medications. There were inconsistent methods of caring for dressings with the MRSA infection and on more than one occasion I had to remind the nurses to use sterile drugs when the PICC line was redressed. When it came time for discharge, we understood that everything was arranged for home care, but at the last minute it turns out that the case manager had not crossed all her t's and dotted all her i's and his discharge ended up being delayed twice because of her failure to follow through. The facility looks nice, most of the staff is friendly, but while there are a very few good nurses, most of them do not care enough to do a good job. Some of the CNA's are just plain lazy. Physical therapy is inadequate and not given as often as it is promised or for as long as it is promised. We would have been better off just coming home and having me care for him because I ended up having to spend most of my time at the facility to make sure that no harm came to him. I would be terrified to leave a loved one there without an advocate.
