I am a staff at st. catherines, and the care for residents is outstanding. All the staff care very much about our residents, but there are alot of problems among staff and supervisors, that should not be going on in a professional work environment. It is in my experience that st. catherines does not treat all staff fairly. Certain staff get special priviledges because they are friends with the supervisors, where as other staff do not. I may be crazy, but this does not seem fair to me, and I have heard complaints saying the same thing from some of my coworkers. If rules are set and everybody is supposed to abide by the same rules then any and all staff that break those rules should have consequences, not just certain ones. I am not trying to tarnish st catherines image as far as care for residents go, but between my coworkers and I we have went pretty much all the way up our chain of command, and still nothing has been done. They tell us to follow our chain of command, but when we do nothing is done, or they blow it off like its not important, but it is. I know that in a healthcare facility it is a good idea to listen to what ur staff has to say about what they see is wrong. If u do not listen there can be no improvement. I am writing this as a last resort. Hoping that someone reads this and knows someone who can do something to improve this.
