I work with adults and adolescents and treat both individuals and couples. I help not only with common problems (anxiety, depression, PTSD or Post-Traumatic-Stress Disorder, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder, etc.). I also work with people whose issues are not easily captured by a diagnosis and are more existential in nature. These so-called "worried well"; come to therapy to uncover and work through the sources of internal struggles, which makes it possible for them to become their best selves and live a more fulfilling life. I am fully bilingual and practice in both English and Russian. I try to tailor my approach to the specific needs and style of each patient. Thus, I can help with either a localized problem using cognitive-behavioral methods or help untangle a deeper and more pervasive issue using existentialist and insight-oriented approaches. I often incorporate elements or Eastern and Western philosophies to help elucidate the essential questions of Being we all grapple with. It has also been helpful to use meditation in my work, whether to foster relaxation or to help people gain greater clarity and mindfulness in their everyday life.
