I made an appointment for 8:30 a.m. and I was not done until 8:00 p.m. for box braids. I got the impression that the owner was more concerned about getting as many customers as she could instead of taking care of the ones who came into the shop early in the morning.

When I expressed my concerns the women started downing me in their native language. Anyone who gets their hair braided understands what I mean. We may not know what they are saying, but we understand they are talking about us. They made sure they helped each other, but refused to help my braider. She had to braid my hair all by herself for twelve hours.

They also had the air that you are just a black woman who needs braids and we are superior Africans so deal with it. Again if you get your hair braided you know what I mean.

Just giving my experience.
