Wow... Dr. Saliba to the RESCUE again!!! No matter what the emergency, after this experience, I will never see another Dentist again!! Being that most of us live in good faith, who wants to live with constant discomfort, pain and irritation caused by a bad dental situation!! OUCH!!
As the story goes... an "emergency" has earned is claim to fame because typically, when facing extreme circumstance and in the need of help, we rely on professionals to help us. Based on my particular life experience, regardless if it is a personal emergency, car or animal related... "emergencies" always seem to happen in the middle of the night on a weekend or holiday. Well, thats exactly what happened in this case...
Before I could absorb what the problem was, due to a bad tooth, I had a severe infection take over the whole side of my jaw which required urgent attention. To say the least, it was excruciating and within one day, the pain was like fire in my cheek and had gone behind my eye.
Well, as "my" luck goes, I was on vacation and being that I did not have access to Dr. Saliba, I was forced into making a regretful mistake by using another Dr.
A year later, I was still suffering from extreme discomfort and pain all of which seemed crazy because the root was gone and although I was able to return the the Dr. that performed the initial procedure, I was still experiencing a lot of pain. To make matters worse, this Dentist did not seem to care about my concerns and left with the distinct impression that he did not want to fix the crown either.
Since week one, I was never able to eat on that side and lived with constant discomfort. After Dr. Saliba examined me again, he confirmed that the margins were off and identified that as a contributing factor to some of the issues I was experiencing. More over, if the crown would have been left unattended, evidentially, it would had led to gum issues (or worse) and who needs that!
This whole situation was turning into a nightmare and due to the high cost of crowns, i was also battling the other Dr. for a refund. Thankfully, after lots of documenting, thankfully, the refund was granted which allowed me to proceed with a new replacement crown.
However, my story doesn't end at a simple crown replacement... After Dr. Saliba removed the old crown, he discovered a major mess and was shocked to witness such a poor job.
Dr. Saliba had to rebuild the entire tooth area and thanks to his vision, he also created an attachment for the new crown to bond too which, considering the dynamics of the the tooth, should have been done the first time.
Thanks to Dr. Saliba's hard work, the new crown has been a blessing and for the first time in over a year, I can eat with that side of my mouth!
WOW!!! Dr. Saliba to the rescue & thank you!!!
I also want to express my gratitude to him for always going "above and beyond" to ensure every issue is addressed. He not only spent hours cleaning up & rebuilding the mess created by the other Dr. but, he also took additional X-rays to ensure the root was actually gone.
As a patient facing 3 more crowns... based on this experience, I was horrified at the thought of having anymore future work done. However, Dr. Saliba saved my tooth and offered me a completely pain free experience throughout the entire process.
THANK YOU Dr. Saliba and once again, I am grateful for your talent, professional expertise and patience!!
Lastly, based on this experience, I also realized that working on issues created by another Dentist is not an ideal situation for any Dentist... However, "professionalism" always comes first with Dr. Saliba and regardless of the mess, he never once went on a smear campaign against the other Dentist and simply handled matters with priority.
My thought; "peace of mind" is everything and if you ever find yourself in a precarious situation, do what you need to do in order to get by and allow Dr. Saliba to finish the job because you can be assured it will be done right!!
Thank you Dr. Saliba!!
