My Sister was at Memorial CIty Memorial Hermann requiring the Phillips V60 Bi-Pap at 100% oxygen... we only agreed to take her to Memorial Hermann Hospice after 3 separate representatives from MHH stated we could have the same or better equipment to provide my Sister 100% o2. There was debate if this was treatment or comfort. Our Doctor and the "3" respectfully agreed this was comfort. However, when we arrived at the Memorial Hermann Hospice the Bi-Pap was a small Phillips Respironics AVAPS, and the o2 was set to 45%. My sister passed within minutes of being on this lesser machine with much less oxygen. Why did they not increase the setting to at least 90% (close to the max for this model)?? And why did we not get the same or better equipment as promised? Are they liars or incompetent? Please visit this facility and visually confirm the room equipment before signing the hospital release papers... you don't have to sign them. You can stay at the hospital and be transferred to an Ltech room... but still have the required equipment for your loved one. Please visually verify everything they say they will provide... and ensure settings and oxygen are what is required for the comfort of your loved one.
