I'm sure a few patients some where that would say they got good service from Good Samaritan hospice, just like there are those that would say Hitler was a nice man. If you are in need of hospice service this is not the one, save yourself much frustration and disappointment, look for another. Perhaps they mean well, however its difficult for family caregivers to deal with the burden they generate, not coming thru with the plan of care, good intentions just doesnt cut it. Poor communication, poor ethics, poor service all the way around. They addressed my concerns as if i were some dumb ass. Hospice charges Medicare upwards of $3500. to $5000 a month for basic palliative care add to that the fees associated with the rental of bed, O2 concentrator, etc, and any other item thy bring in, nothing is free, nothing! they charge for everything. You'd think they would provide decent care when not just the patient but the family needs it most; they dont. I could write many things as to why i am of the opinion Good Samaritan Hospice should be avoided, but its late I have a patient to care for. There's a reason Good Samaritan Hospice stay small, they cant provide the caliber of service it takes to move forward and grow. Dont let the name fool you, nothing good Samaritan about them, move on to another.
