Let me start by saying we selected this clinic over others in TN based on their reviews. This one seemed to have the best out of others. Our experience with them however was very disappointing.
Initial consultation: Doctor explains all the latest technology, new advances in IVF, how their clinic is doing the best and more. They seemed to know what they are doing. Doctor promises that they consider all medical history and do extensive pretesting before designing a protocols for patients.
Payment and pre-cycle: We send them all our medical history. In our next visit doctor claimed he MUST HAVE read my reports but FORGOT what they said! He was even bold enough to say not to worry even if he has not read them and that he is sure they are all good. Seriously!!!
The IVF Cycle: The minute we paid and became their patient we realized the doctors do not care. They kept FORGETTING what protocol we were on! Kept messing up with the medicines! We had to remind them of our protocol and medicines and ask for every small thing! AFTER FAILED CYCLE, the Doctor Again FORGETS TO CALL US UNTIL WE SEND THEM A ‘DISAPPOINTMENT MESSAGE’.
A month after the failed cycle TRM DID NOT FORGET to send us a huge bill, even though we made all the payments upfront. This bill is for embryo hatching in our case. While my wife was lying on the table for implantation, naked and vulnerable, doctor asks us if we want to do Embryo hatching. Actually we weren’t asked but told – “Embryo hatching will improve the chances of implantation in this case. Let’s go with it”. Anyone who has gone through IVF would understand how intimidating it is and that it is an emotional process. So, to improve our chances we said yes to this procedure. When we tried to contact them about how we were not properly informed about the costs and the improper timing of consenting (embryo transfer day!) they said they will follow up with us on this issue. Well, we never received any follow up instead we got another letter threatening to forward our bill to collection!! When we informed them we were waiting for their response they threw the consent forms we signed on our face! THE CONSENT FORM SAYS WE WILL BEAR ANY COST ASSOCIATED WITH THE PROCEDURE AND HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THE COSTS. WE WERE NEVER INFORMED ABOUT THE COST OF EMBRYO HATCHING! THE CONSENT FORMS DO NOT MENTION THE COSTS ANYWHERE AT ALL!! The clinic can just do any procedure and then find a way to charge you! The entire situation was handled very unprofessionally. No coordination between departments!! Honestly, I would not even mind the bill if the IVF cycle was good but they kept forgetting our drugs, changed protocol midway during cycle, did not do any pretesting, and ignored all the past medical history and put us on a standard protocol! FINAL WORD: DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC! YOU ARE BETTER OFF SAVING SOME MORE AND FLYING TO A BETTER CLINIC SOMEWHERE ELSE. THERE ARE HIDDEN COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THEIR PROCEDURES.
Note: 2 stars are for the nurses who were very nice and compassionate. They were the only people who made the entire process less traumatic.
