I am not one to ever leave a review unless it is a positive one. I felt like it was necessary in this situation. We had an emergency situation with our mini pot belly pig who got into something and was vomiting and became very lethargic quickly. She is only 5 years old and in overall good health. It was not a chronic condition and came on within a couple of hours. We called Blue Pearl and they said they did not see pigs anymore. I found this clinic in Plant City and figured a vet in a rural area that sees pigs must know what they are doing. We drove over from Clearwater which is about 45 minutes away as not many vets will see pigs. I can say with confidence that this was the worst experience we have had in any medical situation personal or with our pets. We got to the facility and waited for a bit out back for her to be seen. The doctor came out and took her temp and felt her abdomen. Told me all of the things that she would need like imaging, iv fluids, blood work etc. to find out what was wrong with her. In one breath saying what we need but in the other telling me that is not possible to do with pigs as they are terrible patients. He was very condescending and would not let us ask any questions. The doctor at one point just stared straight forward and just kept talking not ever acknowledging any of my questions as he was speaking. It was like I was not even there. I guess he doesn't realize that not everyone does not understand what he is saying. My girlfriend who was with me is an RN who grew up on a farm and I have a biotech company so we are well versed with medicine. Our questions were dismissed and he was uninterested in our emergency situation. He actually said it was up to the pig to get better. He wrote up a list of a bunch of tests for me to sign off on and pay for if we admitted her but I am sure he had no intention of running. He kept telling us that you cannot do these tests on pigs and that it is only about a 20% chance of actually being able to accomplish the tests. Every time I would ask he could not wait to tell me why they cannot be treated. He also said it was very likely that our pig was very likely in an end of life situation. It was after 5pm and his staff was leaving so I am not sure why he was even listing prices for tests he had no intentions of running. We both had the worst feeling that if we left her there we would be saying goodbye to her that night and would never have her home again but we were out of options. My girlfriend mentioned taking her to the animal hospital at UF. The doctor came back out and agreed that it might be the best bet. He said they had better diagnostics but the treatment would be the same. If anything was positive from being there is that he said we might be good in taking her to Gainesville. We loaded her up and drove straight to Gainesville. Within 2 hours they accomplished everything he said could not be done to a pig. She was sedated, had blood work, CT scan, IV fluids, dose of antibiotics and on the road to recovery from severe dehydration. They found nothing in her abdomen as far as a blockage. I am certain our pig would have died in his care and we would have had a $1000 bill. Worst experience I could have imagined. I never spend time writing reviews but I feel that it is very warranted. I would not bring a guinea pig to this facility. I cannot believe they are aloud to legally operate to be honest. This place needs an audit by the veterinary regulatory agency ASAP!

By far the worst vet we have ever encountered. In my opinion all Dr. Bailey cared about was getting his outrageous fee of 255.00

In my opinion Dr. Bailey was rude and was condescending towards us. In my opinion Dr. Bailey toke advantage of us when our animal was ill after normal business hours. I would not recommend him to others.

Dr. Bailey yelled at me because I questioned his 255.00 pricing. I am a senior and do not appreciate Dr. Bailey's attitude and in my opinion feel that he took advantage by overcharging. Emergency visit cost 120.00 trimming my dogs broken claw nail and an antibiotic spray another 135.00 Total cost 255.00 Time spent with my dog, twenty mins. Dr. Bailey's documentation and calculating his fees, 30 min.
