I could not just answer the standard questions. At first, the vet seems to care. You realize when your dog gets very ill, the vet does not put out any real effort to help you save your dog's life. My dog had a mast cell return near his anus and the one before that had been cancerous and successfully removed by another vet out of state. This vet just told me to wait. It is a drawn out story, but suffice it to say that basically he is lazy and puts no real effort into saving lives or helping you find another specialized vet who is highly qualified and willing to tackle the problem. Because he and the Univ. Of TN vet school let it drag out so long - the small flat mass became huge and then UT wanted to remove the hip and leg (though they kept hesitating to do the surgery before that saying he might not make it). He suffered terrible agonizing pain and when was killed, he screamed bloody murder. All because my regular vet was just so lax and uncaring. Go with those gut feelings and impressions - I felt several times that the vet at Emory AH was just too lazy and not putting forth any real effort.
Also, one time when I left him there for grooming (before this cancer) he had just started on a new antibiotic and when I went to get him he LITERALLY was SOAKED from panting so hard. The techs commented on how upset he was - but no one tried to determine why as he had never done this before. Here he was having a severe reaction to the antibiotic and I found this out when I took him home and ended up in the ER that night.
It is so sad how difficult it is to find medical care for the animals we love so much and who love us often much more than your own human family/friends. Some day I do hope that human animals recognize that the other animals are persons just as we are.

They definitely don't have a good professional reputation within my community. I heard that they harass their old employees so they can't work at another animal clinic. Everyone knows they're not trustworthy at all when you do something like that, they also give out expired medications to their clients. One area of improvement that this business is in dire need of is revamping their building to make it more handicap-accessible. It seemed extremely out-of-date and a little unsafe as well. If I compare them to others in their field, I wouldn't say they're the worst, but they're definitely not the best. They played the typical, annoying elevator music. It did not make for a pleasing environment.
