I had a beautiful loving dog with arthritis so clinic put him on cortisone which caused him to get diabetes. The vet there was never there but left an untrained person in charge ( not even a vet tech....no training other than treating the vets animals). The dosage and the needle sizes were always wrong and my dog was condition deteriorated. Then, on top of that, he got Lymes...they had given him his yearly vaccinations and I assumed the Lyme vaccine as well. Found out, they don't give that vaccine. So they put him on one medication that made him sick. So vet recommended I put him on another which did nothing. Took him back again and vet said we have tried everything and nothing is working. Turns out they did not try a medicine that probably would have worked but put him on an antibiotic that has no affect on treating Lyme disease.....the vet did not check the records (cuz he was never there) and he did not give him that particular medication which could have worked because he thought he already had given it it him! By that time, my dog was so ill from the improper dose of insulin and the wrong meds for Lymes that I has to have him humanly put down. Broke my heart. They have now hired a real vet instead of letting a lay person treat patients while the vet is off doing who knows what....the vet is a compassionate person but I don't feel he takes the time or is knowledgable enough to properly diagnose and treat.
