My mother, being a resident there, is not treated with the dignity and respect every elder deserves no matter their position in life. She cannot dress herself, but receives no help morning or evening. Needs assistance to the bathroom, but does not get it. Holds onto anything and everything, safe or not, struggles to sit down and get up. Beds are ancient. She has fallen 6+ times in recent months. Clothes not belonging to her are often found in her closet after the laundry is done. The food (and yes I have and do eat it occasionally) is disgusting. Even though this is a medicare/medicaid home it is still "for profit". Do you have any idea how much "profit" is made here. Check into it. More than should be, considering the patient care, lack of real heart amongst the employees/owner, safety, bathing twice a week, etc. The way our elderly are treated today is absolutely shameful. If i had money I would yank her out, care for her, and love her at home. Believe me this choice for her was not made by me.
