We had our choices of facilities, and chose this one. We had to decide quickly and did not have time to check into the Medicare scores or complaints. What happened to my father was a terrible outcome that could have been prevented. This facility, Clarkston Specialty Healthcare can never recover from all the horrible past negligence that the patients had to endure. My father passed away in this facility and my family was too late in getting him out! The complete story is too awful to write in this review. I feel that I can never forgive myself for allowing this to happen. We are smart, educated, family members and we were fooled. They did not have a full proper medical healthcare staff and inexperienced healthcare workers. The CNA's (aids) faked it, pretending they knew what they were doing. The patient's were left unattended at night and there was no way to contact anyone to check on my father. I wanted to trust them...but please don't. I knew after the first few days that something was seriously wrong with the care in this facility. I started scrambling and begging for help. Nobody checked on the feeding tubes, nurses were scarce, malnutrition and infection set in fast. Please trust what I am saying. I filed negligent charges against this facility with the State of Michigan. Clarkston Specialty Healthcare falsified the medical records and it took them weeks to give us a copy of the records...just in time to for them to fabricate, forge records etc. They just got a slap on the hands even though my father lost his life.The top management here is heartless. There are no doctor's to call for urgent response affiliated with this facility when there is an emergency. There is no wound care specialist. my father died of sepsis ( blood infection ) from wound and they deceived the coroner and said he had chronic congestive heart failure. The administration will tell you that you cannot remove your loved one from this facility, but do not believe that. Call the police if necessary and get an ambulance to take them out; go first to a hospital. It is very difficult to get assistance from anyone because it is hard to prove negligence when medical records are falsified during a suit and because the nursing homes are protected by the State. If I can help just 1 family I feel I can slowly heal from this tragic experience.
