You would think that retail would have friendlier employees. The rudest employees I have ever come across were the employees at the front of the store and not just to customers. I noticed a female employee come in to work who said hello to (I believe her name is Tyreka ). She basically ignored the employee who said hello and even smirked behind her back. If this is how employees treat each other I am sure you have a high turnover rate.
