Board Certified physician for 31 years with Escondido OB GYN Medical Group expanding into North County Womens Specialists as the senior partner. Recognized as "Top Doctor" by San Diego Magazine (2004); "Physician of the Year" by Palomar Medical Center in Surgery (2004) and the Birth Center (2007) among many other awards received for dedication to patients and staff. He was elected Chief of Staff by the Medical Staff at Palomar Medical Center in 2002 and has twice served as Department Chairman for Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has also been Chairman of the Quality Management Committee and the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. Dr. Buringrud is currently the Chief Medical Quality Officer for Palomar Pomerado Health District and is involved with building the new hospital due to open in 2012. He is commonly referred to as "Dr. B" among his patients and staff and medical personnel. He is respected b the medical comunity as aphysician with integrity and composure.

Dr. B has consistently been awarded honors by patients, medical staff, and nurses for his
professional care and attitude towards those he works and cares for. The Surgery department honored him in 2004, and the Birth Center honored him in 2007 for his dedication to service.

In addition, he has been awarded "Top Doctor" listing according to San Diego Magazine in 2004, which considering the number of Ob Gyn physicians throughout San Diego County, this is a recognition given to few.

He has been in practice for 31 years in Escondido, as the senior partner with Escondido Ob Gyn Medical Group, and has recently expanded his practice into North County Women's Specialists.

He has served as Chief of Staff of the hospital, and served as Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology for two terms.

Dr. Buringrud also functions as Chief Medical Quality Assurance Officer for the hospital.
