About
David Mann, Ph.D.
I see adult individuals as well as couples in my psychotherapy practice. We work together to help you make changes in your personal and work areas that promote your longings, functioning, and well-being. This entails efforts on both our parts so improvements are made in areas that matter to you. Patients who come to treatment may be experiencing any of the following: depression; anxiety; panic; obsessive-compulsiveness; post-traumatic stress; loss and grief; sleep disturbance; stress; adjustment to new circumstances and transitions; difficulties finding and deepening relationships; and, problems dealing with conflict. These conditions may be associated with self-criticism, emptiness, sadness, inadequacy, self-doubt, shame, uncertainty, insecurity, fear, being overwhelmed, disappointment, and/or irritability. Sometimes one has the overall feeling that nothing is working out. In the first session, I review what is bringing you to therapy, what you may have experienced in trying to address your concerns in the past, and what helped and what didnt, and why. We will review your personal, family, and physical histories so we dont miss anything that is important to you and our work together. Then, we can address your goals, desires, and longings, and along the way reduce the repetition of things that dont work and may bring frustration, unhappiness, and suffering into your life. Appointments are available during the weekdays, as well as nights and weekends. My office is located one block from Ocean Ave./Palisades Park. It is accessible by car, public transportation, bicycle, and foot, and is wheelchair accessible. Parking options include the building lot (cost), meters on street, and free public structures one-half block away. If you call, please leave a couple of times to call you, along with your phone number. Hopefully, too, when I call at that time, you would have privacy for yourself while on the phone.
