Dr. Corbett is insensitive and showed no empathy. She is also unprofessional and has no filter. For instance, she says the first thing that comes to her mind without thinking how this affects me as a client. She cannot control her emotions and does not hesitate to share her biases. For example, if you are a pet lover, don't share that with her because she will chastise you as she did with me.
She is LOUD, dominates the conversation, and insists on being right all the time. It is her way or the highway. As a client, I could barely get a word in. In fact, she talks about herself and her family a lot and my needs are put aside. It is all about HER, HER, HER!
I thought that psychologists are supposed to validate clients' feelings and not judge them. The opposite is true for her.... She will berate me then give me a lecture on what I'm supposed to feel. As a result, I feel belittled and judged,
Dr. Corbett is constantly late and she does not even apologize each time it happens. To illustrate, I will be waiting for almost half an hour because either she is not in the office yet or she is with another client. Despite the inconvenience, she will simply brush it off or not say anything. Hence, I feel disrespected and devalued as a client.
She DOES NOT RESPECT PATIENT CONFIDENTIALITY. For example, she readily shares her former clients' issues/problems especially those who left her a negative review. She tells me stories about their life which is inappropriate and UNETHICAL. Further, She shares information about her current clients behind their backs.
I am a patient person and gave her several chances to improve. However, the sessions got worse and worse.... I was stressed out during our sessions because I do not know when she will blow up and yell at me. One of the most therapeutic things that I did to myself was to stop seeing her. I realized that she did more harm than good. If only I read her reviews beforehand, there is no way in the world that I would see her! Looking back, I can relate with other clients who left a negative review because I experienced them myself.
Finally, I won't be surprised if her license gets revoked one of these days because of her UNETHICAL and UNPROFESSIONAL behavior. She is the worse psychologist that I've ever met.
