First of all the counselor was GREAT. No complaints there. However, after 3 days of them going back and forth with my insurance information, I finally got a call back saying that everything was fine with it and that I was good to go. They never mentioned that since I was OUT OF NETWORK, that I still hadn't met my $2,000 deductible. They never mentioned that my visit would be $160. They didn't collect the money UPFRONT so I of course thought that everything was covered. I came out and was making an appointment for the next visit and the front receptionist asked for $160. I tried telling her that nothing was EVER mentioned about Out of Network nor that my visit would cost $160. I told her that no one (and I spoke to at least 3 different people on the phone) ever mentioned that. I got nothing but the demand for my credit card. She was extremely rude and finally after charging me and not trying to help, she asks if I want the appointment. Really? I said no, that I would need to find someone In Network. She hands me back my card and with NO sincerity whatsoever, says, "sorry 'bout that." My suggestion is that the staff who is handling the insurance questions and research, learn to do their job better and inform people of cost and benefits and definitely collect CO-PAYS upfront so that this doesn't happen AGAIN.
