My sister was placed in Generations Hospital a week ago for a totally unusual "Delirium state." Since that time not one Psychiatrist has attempted to call the family to provide input. I guess the Psychiatrists think they are too good for that or they are able to come up with some type of a diagnosis for a younger woman who has had many years of incidents which could help explain her current condition. I myself, have attempted to contact the one Generations, Psychiatrist, but he is too busy training students rather than helping my sister and, of course never returns your call. In addition the family has provided a History of my sister's issues over the years but no nurse can find it in her chart. Nor can they find any Psychiatric review. Even the "week-end" Psychiatrist has to ask my mentally frail sister questions that must have been asked before, & explained in her chart, if someone had bothered to put it in her chart. No one has bothered to check with her recent Psychiatrist or her long-term Psychiatrist before that. There seems to be no communication between any of these "supposed professionals" or anyone else. In addition, is this a Hospital or a Prison? Why is the family, who provides very needed support (since no one else does) to their loved ones only allowed a 1 hour visit? What a joke. I plan on contacting the American Medical Association for the worse care for my sister that I have ever observed.
