If you are in immediate need of crisis Donna is better than nothing. At a time when I just needed to have an appointment on the books once a week to hold myself accountable she fulfilled that purpose.

However, she has remarkably little familiarity with current events and more disturbingly, even less familiarity with the most basic concepts in modern psychology. She interjects her own personal feelings, which is never appropriate in therapy, and she prejudges without actually listening to the circumstances or facts of an individual's personal situation.

While this is the least damning of her qualities, she pushes for inclusion into one of her group therapy sessions without serious thought or discussion on whether that group is appropriate for the individual. She also requires you buy the book from her but charges more than it would cost to get it off amazon or even at a retailer like Barnes & Noble. And, of all the self-help and psychology books I have read (which somehow outnumber Donna's library of knowledge) the anger management book is the most bush-league, narrow-minded, counterproductive discussion of the topic.

The advice she gave me during my sessions really helped me and my situation. I was able to recover much more quickly with her help. I have finally found a counselor that understands me and makes me feel comfortable to say things that I've been too afraid to talk about. It was so nice to finally get some unbiased advice from someone removed from my everyday life. I would recommend her for counseling. I really felt like I could open up. My overall experience with this provider would rank her as the best I've been to.
