After a long period of receiving no counseling services, I went to Ms. Woods with a fresh perspective on getting better and healing from my past. Being that she was a black woman, I was also optimistic that she would understand where I was coming from. I was instead met with harsh, almost-critical views on my decision-making and perspective on certain issues. While she retained professionalism and respect, I almost felt like she judged me and used far-fetched analogies on why I did/thought in a certain manner. I didn't feel like she provided solutions. The first session was great, but a few sessions later, and I almost never felt empowered coming in to sessions...and I felt even more terrible coming out. She is great on time, but if you decide to cancel or you won't receive a message back at least 1-2 days later. I don't usually do reviews, but if you are serious about getting better...I wouldn't recommend.
