Dr. Castanos has over ten years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families in a variety of settings ranging from outpatient substance abuse institutions and family therapy in school settings to human resources management in organizations. Dr. Castanos specializes in working with elementary school aged children and their families, young adults, couples, and families that work together.
In addition to her clinical experience, Dr. Castaos has worked as a human resources manager and consultant specializing in organizational development. Her business experience coupled with her knowledge of family systems equips her to help families that work together find harmony in blending business with family.
Dr. Castanos has a degree in clinical psychology and psychoanalysis and a Ph. D. in marriage and family therapy. She was awarded a Dissertation Award from the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy in Family Business consulting and is an adjunct professor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Dr. Castanos is licensed to provide marriage and family therapy in the state of North Carolina and a certified trainer in communication and conflict resolution.
Dr. Castanos has international academic and professional experience which provides her with a broader perspective to therapy, emphasizing results-oriented approaches in short and long-term individual, couple and family psychotherapy. Drawing on her multicultural background, Dr. Castanos conducts sessions in English and Spanish and to clients from bilingual families. Dr. Castanos is committed to apply her knowledge and experience to help others live more fulfilling lives by improving their relationships.

Dr. Castanos offers a variety of services. She created the program Moving On which is an online program to help individuals that are having a hard time after the end of a relationship. She offers therapy sessions to individuals, couples, and families. She also offers an intensive session called "Marathon for couples" for couples in crisis.
