I've never had a cat before so I had a ton of questions. Dr Mercurio patiently answered all my questions and I didn't feel rushed at all. The office even called the next day to see if I had any other questions. But most importantly is that I felt confident that she knew what she was talking about (unlike the first vet I took her to). The staff were also friendly and knowledgeable. The office was quiet and relaxing which I'm sure Nala appreciated. You can park for free in the lot across the street. Just don't park against the parking garage (in that lot) if you want to avoid a $30 ticket from Brown University. The faded signs are literally 10 feet high and easy to miss.
The price was higher than the costs I'm typically use to with my dogs. The exam alone was $58 and an ear cytology (swab) was $27 (a rescue friend of mine says her vet does this for free) but at least the ear cleaning was free. I did stop her before she gave shots (I didn't want them because I'm still looking for her owner and if not the town does them in the spring for $10) which were about to be administered had I not stopped her. She was fine with it. Just remember that you don't have to do everything they suggest. Their original procedure estimate was $264 and after skipping most of the suggestions I ended up paying $85. Like my friend says their job is to load up the bill and your job is to knock it down. Overall, it's a bit pricier than I'm use to but having a vet who can diagnose properly and give correct advice is more important and worth giving the 5 stars.
