We presented our beautiful 10 year old cat, Teddy, to Doctor Hallstrom at Norfolk Dog and Cat Hospital for mild cold or flu like symptoms on Jan 21, 2013.
Dr Hallstrom forced a medically unnecessary enema on our already weakened cat and then doused him in icey-cold water ostensibly to "clean him up." Teddy was then caged in frigid temperatures without even being dried off until we were called to collect him four hours later. Teddy was thrust back in to our arms by a disgruntled nurse while he was still damp-wet and shivery cold. The nurse rebuffed our attempts to consult with or ask questions to Dr, Hallstrom unless we agreed to another $250 payment.
At the suggestion of a friend, we rushed Teddy to Bay-Beach Vet in Va Beach where he was diagnosed as being in shock and having a dangerously low core body temperature. Bay-Beach attempted to warm Teddy and rehydrate him with IV Fluids, but it was too late. 48Hours later teddy passed away.
It boggles my mind that we could hand off to Dr. Hallstrom a healthy 10 year old cat who was spritely running about our home only days ago and after only four hours in his charge was icey-cold, in shock and near-death.
I am presently pursuing criminal animal abuse charges against Dr. Hallstrom and his partner, Dr Gerlach. Further, I am reporting both of them to the Virginia Board of Veterinary Medicine. What they did to our Teddy is absolutely criminal. I will make certain they are barred from treating or owning an animal for the rest of their lives.
Please be forewarned, this man is a sick fuk. He's psychopathological about collecting your money and implementing whatever medical procedure he deems convenient regardless of whether its of benefit to your pet's ailment. If your pet recovers, he takes credit. If your pet doesn't, he takes another $250 for further treatment. For the unlucky few, such as my family, your pet will not be able to endure the abuse suffered at Dr Hallstrom's blood soaked hands and your pet will die sufferingly. Our Teddy did.
