I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with twelve years of experience providing psychotherapy and counseling to individuals, couples and families across the lifespan. My expertise lies in the treatment of Depression, Anxiety, Anger, Grief and Loss, and Family of Origin issues as well Mens and GLBTQ Issues and Trauma. I believe that the change and balance that people seek in their lives happens within the context of the relationship between the client and therapist. This relationship is based on trust, empathy, mutual respect, open communication and nonjudgmental understanding. I also believe in the ability of my clients to make changes in their lives, to realize their full potential and in my skill and ability in assisting my clients with that process. My approach is eclectic, incorporating psychodynamic, relational and cognitive behavioral techniques. My style is a collaborative one that easily incorporates my training as a therapist and my client's own belief system. Clients feels understood, supported and challenged in a safe, confidential and non judgmental environment. I earned a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago and completed post graduate training in the Adult Psychotherapy Training Program at the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis. I was formerly in the funeral service industry for thirteen years prior to pursing my graduate degree. My undergraduate degree is from St. Bonaventure University in upstate New York.
