HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! My appt. was at 1 pm and went early to sign in and complete paperwork. The usual receptionist was not there so it took two people to sign us in because they did not know how. We then waited and waited. During this time another person walked in and was told that the receptionist was at lunch and would return at any minute but was not signed in. Any minute turned into over 20 minutes for him until the receptionist finally came over. The young gentleman even made a comment saying, "This lady must have a very long lunch or is very hungry." I continued to wait and finally a hour later we asked where we were at the appointment and was told that they were still signing us in. We decided to leave to run a errand and returned 30 minutes later. We returned only to be told that since we were not there when they called us 10 minutes ago we would have to reschedule. I then complained to them about how unprofessional they are and that each person deserves respect, which they did not show. I have personally worked with them before when I worked at a suicide hotline and I have heard more negative things about them then positive. Now that I have personally experience it I can honestly say, if you can try to avoid them.
This facility is NOT in a neighborhood. Bluebonnet and Tejas mental health services are planning to by the old La Grange hospital on Jackson St for $1.00(one dollar) from La Grange ISD. IT is right in the middle of a neighborhood. Plans include parking for 180 cars. Imagine the traffic for this residential community, let alone the MHMR patients coming in for care. This facility would also continue to have high school students sharing the same building! Sacred Heart Church and school are directly across the street. This facility will not turn down those in need. This includes pedophiles., suicidal patients, etc. It is a terrible location for a worthy organization. Yet, LGISD superintendent and significant others from this community deliberate did not hold a forum for the citizens. Never called Sacred Heart Church or school, or even the diocese to discuss the repercussions the facility may have on our community. Does a mental health facility belong in a neighborhood? You matter, come to the planned LGISD meetings. Be heard. This may never be seen by the public, but if you are reading this, how would you like this to be in your neighborhood?
