Robert John Cole, M.D., a Board Certified Radiation Oncologist,
has been in clinical practice since 1979 and specializes in cancers of the breast, colon, lung, and prostate gland.
He is a firm proponent of prostate seed implantation as it affords a high success rate with minimal downtime or side effects. With over 30 years of experience, he has successfully performed hundreds of prostate seed implants. He pioneered the prostate seed implantation program at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey during his eighteen-year tenure there.

Dr. Cole is recognized in the books, Who’s Who in America, How to Find the Best Doctors in the New York Metro Area, Guide to Top Doctors, and has been designated a “Top Doc” by New Jersey Monthly Magazine for many years. Through his voluntary efforts, Dr. Cole has raised over one million dollars for the American Cancer Society for cancer research and patient care. Dr. Cole has also participated in the Vida International Medical Care program in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Panama.
Dr. Cole earned his medical degree at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine, Wake Forest University in North Carolina. He completed an externship in anesthesiology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, a diagnostic radiology internship, and served as the chief resident in a three-year radiation oncology residency at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Dr. Cole received postgraduate training in Transrectal Ultrasound Prostate Implantation at the Pacific Northwest Cancer Foundation in Seattle, Washington with Dr. John Blasko, and at Mt. Sinai Hospital, New York with Dr. Nelson Stone.
He is currently affiliated with many New Jersey Hospitals including St. Mary’s in Passaic, St. Josephs in Wayne, Trinitas Medical Center in Elizabeth, Newton Medical Center in Newton, as well as numerous free standing outpatient surgical centers throughout the state.
