My philosophy isn,t to chase pain. I look for areas of compensation, gait walking with one foot dragging usually on right side, lying down prone is one hip higher, how does tissue feel and look, how do legs and arms rotate, and is head on shoulders or leaning forward.
I have developed my skills over the years starting in 1985 as a model in a Rolfing class at Meadowood Resort Hotel and Conference Center, St. Helena, CA. From there i pursued a deep tissue class taught in 1985 where I practiced deep tissue massage on a very limited part time basis. My next lunge into the healing arts field came in 2003 I enrolled in the Acupressure Institute program finishing up in 2005. This opened up my eyes to other possibilities and I found my self doing volunteer acupressure sessions on Memorial Hospital pain management clients for about a year. Next stop on my quest to unravel the mysteries of pain I pursued National holistic Institutes professional massage and health educational program finishing up in 2007. I went to work at Massage Envy where i did a two year training program and in the process I won the regional northern California massage award of the year. During my training at Massage Envy I honed my deep tissue skills watching Art Riggs certified Rolfer deep tissue massage videos. At the massage envy ceremonial award informational desk they informed us we were also enrolled in a class taught by James Waslaski orthopedic massage therapist. I soon found out through researching who James hung out with and soon became fast friends of Erik Dalton myoskeletal alignment program which is deep tissue, myofascial release, and myoskeletal alignment. (a form of massage derived from Rolfing and Osteopathy). I am finishing up on his 200 hour program. In the meant time I was board certified therapeutic massage and bodyworker. (BCTMB) I am looking forward to passing it on as a working deep tissue / ?? class

In 1979 I was injured severely as a landscape laborer and was forced to be on pain meds and the next several years I became heavily addicted to them. I sought out Alternative Medicine through a chain of events my Primary doctor in Orange lCounty California referred me to a md that prescribe other modalities instead of pills and within two weeks of Cathy Amber's physical therapy program I walk without pain.This injury planted a forest for there is hope for a person that suffers with pain.My philosophy isn,t to chase pain.
