Education Undergraduate degree at Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, 1968 received a Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry.
Dr. Elder attended the University of Iowa College of Dentistry where he received his dental degree in 1972.
He continued with ongoing advanced training in various aspects of dentistry to include: endodontics, cosmetic dentistry, computerized dentistry, laser dentistry, implant dentistry, TMJ, and occlusion. He is a graduate of the Pacifica Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry in San Francisco, California, owned by Discus Dental and Dr. William Dorfman of Extreme Makeover. He continues to upgrade his Benicia dental practice with the latest technologies.
Affiliations Original member of the Academy of Preventive Dentistry, Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, Academy of Computerized Dentistry, and the American Dental Association, Wisconsin Dental Association, and the Minnesota Dental Association.

It was so nice to arrive and see many fully qualified staff members. I've gone to some places that were very understaffed and I've never had a good experience. This place had a great staff though, and I'll definitely be going back. Their office was one of the quietest, most peaceful places I've ever visited. I was able to relax very easily. When I left my appointment, my mouth felt cleaner than it's ever felt. They did such a fantastic job. I couldn't believe how knowledgeable and well-informed the staff was. They were able to answer all my questions, except the ones they needed to have their boss's input on. It was great to be able to talk to such a skilled staff.

They always return my phone calls quickly. I always know that I'll get a prompt answer to my question. Just as a side note, this business is really conveniently located and is close to everything. It is right off and freeway and close to all kinds of shops. I was able to do my shopping for the week right after my appointment. Their primary concern is my safety and comfort, and they always take the time to address every concern of mine immediately. They would never suggest that I buy something that wasn't necessary, and never pressured me. They were always very considerate and professional.
