About
Shalini Mongia, M.S., MFT
Therapy is a process of growth and change.
Changing patterns that aren't working, creating positive change, and increasing happiness in your relationships, career, family, and self.
I believe positive change is abundantly possible and that we all have an intrinsic ability to make positive change happen. Sometimes we could use some help to do so. Life can be joyful, fulfilling and exciting, and at the same time stressful, complicated, or frustrating. Every person struggles with difficult circumstances or emotions at some point or another. If you are striving for more balance, therapy can provide you with insights and solutions. Whether you are experiencing inner conflicts, relationships conflicts, or interested in focusing on personal development, an objective and trained professional can help you in achieving your goals.
My aim with each client is to provide effective services in a confidential setting where concerns can be safely explored. I incorporate nonjudgment, compassion, and humor to help your sessions feel comfortable while being productive. Your sessions will consist of empathic, attuned listening while also being interactive and consisting of analytical feedback. The treatment plan is developed collaboratively, and is specific to your unique needs. We examine the ways you think and feel about situations in your life, and how you react in response to those situations...towards greater self-awareness, self-confidence, and peace of mind. You will receive constructive insights and guidance when appropriate, while being encouraged to express how youre feeling about your progress or evolving needs.
I approach therapy as a collaborative process, fostering the growth and changes needed towards achieving desired goals through consistent analysis, feedback, and direction. I am committed to aiding in finding solutions and relief from a wide range of stressors, habits, emotional issues, and unhealthy patterns.
While we can't change or reverse the difficult situations from the past, we can work to better understand and resolve the challenges that occur as a result of the past. Part of this process includes uncovering behavioral patterns and negative perceptions that may be holding you back. I work to identify and address the underlying issues that are obstacles towards reaching your goals. With an emphasis in identifying how your beliefs, experiences, upbringing, and expectations influence the circumstances you are unsatisfied with.
