About
Jaquel Patterson, N.D.
Dr. Jaquel Patterson utilizes natural therapies including nutrition, homeopathy, herbal medicine, and acupuncture to restore balance and optimize your health.
Jaquel Patterson, ND, MBA is a naturopathic physician with over 10 years of clinical experience and is the current President- Elect for the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. Her practice focuses on autoimmune conditions and chronic immune dysfunction, bone and joint pain, Lyme disease, asthma and allergy, childhood disorders and anxiety/depression.
Dr. Patterson had a passion for alternative medicine at an early age. Being of mixed heritage, Black and Chinese, she observed the benefits of alternative healing practices at home.
Further inspiration for pursuing naturopathic medicine came from her adolescence when Dr. Patterson saw her mother struggle with lupus and rheumatoid arthritis and noticed the many unmet needs in the conventional treatments; this instilled in her, a desire and hope for a better way to provide care.
After completing her undergraduate degree at Cornell University and working a few years in the business field, she pursued and completed her doctoral degree at the University of Bridgeport, College of Naturopathic Medicine.
Since then, she has pursued a path of medicine with the core naturopathic tenets in mind “treat the whole person” and find the underlying cause of disease. Her approach is anything but traditional, aiming to meet people where they are at, creating a comfortable space and environment to get to the root cause of disease, and partnering and empowering others to, as she says, “get back to self”.
Dr. Patterson additionally has extensive experience as a presenter both nationally and locally on integrative medicine and pain management, chronic disease conditions, autoimmune conditions and its application in clinical practice. She’s had multiple appearances on Channel 12 news, Cablevision’s Health Talk, Bottom Line on Your Health and Green Medics radio and written publications like Naturopathic Doctor News & Review (NDNR).
She is the co-chair for DMHAS Statewide Integrative Medicine Collaborative, is a Medical Advisor for ZyCal Bioceuticals Healthcare, served on the Provider Advisory Council for the State of Connecticut’s Patient Centered Medical Home and Advisory Board for the State Innovation Model.
She has additional experience in the realm of community and public health as a healthcare executive, serves on non-profit boards and is a community ambassador for the Lupus Foundation of America.
