I visited Dr. Barton after straining my lower back while exercising. During the consultation he told me that there was a problem with my x-rays, and that I was suffering from degenerative disk disease. This obviously concerned me, but while asking questions about it I felt that he did not share my concern. After the chiropractic adjustment, he asked me if I had any questions as he opened the door. In just being diagnosed with a disease, I had many questions. I felt very rushed, and did not feel like he was concerned for my well being. It seemed more like he was trying to get me out and the next patient in. He did tell me though that as long as I continued to come back in for adjustments, I should be fine. I decided to see another chiropractor for a second opinion. During our consultation, I waited to see if he would bring up anything in regards to my disk disease. He did not. When I inquired about Dr. Barton's diagnosis, this doctor was completely shocked. He said that besides the problem areas on my back, everything was completely healthy. He even went as far as to show me what a back with degenerative disk disease does look like so I could see a side-by-side comparison for myself. I have heard of some doctor's using "buzz" words like this to scare patients into coming back, but this was a first for me. I will not return to Dr. Barton.
