Dr. Schwietert was blessed to grow up within a third generation chiropractic family, witnessing the power of the body healing itself. He always had chiropractic care available throughout his childhood, but he had not envisioned himself becoming a chiropractic physician as an adult.
After working many manual labor jobs for several years as I attended college part-time, he then realized that there was something greater that God had planned for him. Dr. Schwietert was determined to find something that would be fullfilling, challenging and that would help others to attain their goals and aspirations. Once he had enough college credits to enter chiropractic college, he chose Northwestern College of Chiropractic in St. Paul, MN where his father and brother attended.
He began Chiropractic College at Northwestern where he met the most intriguing woman of his life, and took a break from college to get engaged and married the next year. He and his wife, Dr. Deb Schwietert, then moved to Lombard, Illinois where Dr. Schwietert began chiropractic college again at National College of Chiropractic under the college Presidency of Dr. Joseph Janse.
During this educational phase, he was amazed at the complexity of the human body and how God had made people so perfect and unique. This profession sparked his passion to help others attain the health that was within them. Dr. James believes we were designed to heal ourselves, and that his education was just the beginning of life and passion for Chiropractic.
This Rapid City Chiropractor believes our bodies were designed to heal themselves, but due to our busy lifestyles and beliefs, our bodies struggle and some can't heal on their own. His first job is to find the cause of his Rapid City patient's symptoms and begin to help their body to heal, rather than just masking symptoms. The education of the patient begins on the initial visit, and continues throughout their care. The educational aspect of care is of utmost importance. Dr. Schwietert feels that people deserve to know what is wrong with them, how chiropractic care can help them, and what they can do themselves to manage their health. Only through the educational process can this be accomplished.
At Schwietert Chiropractic Clinic, they strive to treat the whole person and not just their symptoms. Many factors cause sickness and they want to address most, if not all of them. Nutritional considerations are always considered with treatment at Schwietert Clinic, as our bodies need the proper food to heal and operate at maximum efficiency, and the right exercise to remain healthy.
