My therapeutic approach is grounded in basic principles of mindfulness and cognitive-based interventions. This includes a strong focus on acknowledging and learning to release emotional and psychological pain rooted in the past, reducing anxiety and worry about the future, and how these issues affect the individual in her/his relationships with family, friends, spouse/partner, colleagues and co-workers, etc.
Treatment may also include addressing newly diagnosed or ongoing mental health problems, including work on symptom reduction and mood management. I work with individuals who suffer from major depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety disorders, and/or face grief and loss, major life transitions, a damaged sense of self-worth, GLBT issues, and many other concerns.
I believe deeply in the human capacity for change, growth, and transformation, and the possibility that it is available to all who seek it.
