While Dr. Nugent has geared his practice around sports medicine and sports related injuries, he has also developed a passion for treating the pediatric population and studying Developmental Kinesiology. He has found that correcting developmental dysfunction at a young age reduces the subsequent risk of injuries such as scoliosis, ACL tears, and many other common musculoskeletal disorders in late adolescence and adulthood.
While at National University of Health Sciences, Dr. Nugent was elected to the executive board of the Chiropractic Fraternity, Sigma Phi Kappa, where he furthered his skills amongst peers. Along with being school representative to the Motion Palpation Institute, he was President of NUHS's Motion Palpation Club, giving him the opportunity to not only learn, but teach and review biomechanics, palpation and manipulation to his peers. While enrolled at NUHS, Dr. Nugent attended multiple post-graduate seminars on biomechanics, rehabilitation, and adjustments of the spine and extremities through the Motion Palpation Institute.
Prior to attending National University of Health Sciences, Dr. Nugent attended Elmhurst College, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Biology. On his days away from the office, Dr. Nugent enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing golf, and exercising.

Dr. Jim Nugent, originally from Oak Park, IL, earned a Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine from National University of Health Sciences. He developed an appreciation for the profession at an early age, when he received the healing benefits of a chiropractic treatment himself. In addition to fundamental chiropractic care, Dr. Nugent now has expertise in sports and musculoskeletal injuries, biomechanics, and rehabilitation. Dr. Nugent took over 200 hours of post-graduate programs while he attended NUHS. Dr. Nugent uses a variety of diagnostic and treatment modalities which include Motion Palpation, McKenzie Diagnosis and Therapy, Function Rehabilitation, Dynamic Neuromuscular Re-education, Vojta Therapy, Graston Therapy, Kinesiology Taping and many more.
