Services A Cardiologist is a physician who treats diseases of the cardiovascular system, which includes the heart and surrounding blood vessels. Cardiologists are trained to recognize, evaluate, and diagnose heart related problems, as well as manage chronic, acute, and genetic heart diseases. Cardiologists also provide preventive care.
Treatments applied by a Cardiologist:
• Echocardiogram - a soundwave picture to look at the structure and function of the heart.
• Treat blocked arteries- either the coronary arteries (in your heart)
or the carotid arteries (in your neck)
• Monitor your risks of heart attack, heart failure, heart valve disease,
or abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias)
• Perform cardiac catheterizations
• Evaluate Holter monitor or event recorder test.
• Implant heart devices like pacemakers, implantable cardioverter
defibrillators (ICD's), or heart failure devices, treatment.
