My work as a therapist begins with making a connection with my client, no matter what age. Fostering a comfortable and safe environment is necessary for progress to take place. Goal setting is also essential. I have experience working primarily with families and children, and also with couples and individuals dealing with relation-based concerns. In my work with children and adolescents, I take time to form a trusting, secure relationship. In my work with families and adults, I encourage my clients to think critically and realistically about what they'd like to change about their lives.
Within the secure space of the therapeutic relationship, my clients are able to face their concerns and anxieties and find the inner strength they always had but overlooked. I am happy to be able to be a part of that re-awakening.
What drives my work as a Family Therapist is my belief in people's ability to make positive changes in their lives. I particularly value my therapy work with parents and children. Here, I focused on building family cohesion, the positive expression of emotion, and improving communication between family members.
