I am an outpatient, licensed mental health counselor in the state of Washington and I operate from a place of working together with a patient to address the hurts that brings one into therapy. I believe therapy is a partnership and together we will examine current feelings and situations causing dissatisfaction in addition to talking about experiences from the past that often, when left unacknowledged and ungrieved, continue to be a source of pain. We will also examine the relationship that occurs between us in the therapy room and use that as a template to improve relationship outside of the counseling setting. Combining these things together in an open, honest and respectful environment provides patients the opportunity to address issues from the past, grieve losses and begin to find hope for a brighter future.
