Dr. Brijesh Patel was raised in the western suburbs of Chicago and he graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry in 1996. He then entered Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York where he graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2000. Upon completion of dental school he was accepted into the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency training program at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. His training included obtaining a Doctor of Medicine degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, a certificate of completion of a General Surgery internship, and a significant amount of anesthesia and ICU training.Dr. Patel studied in Europe as part of his residency, having had a position of honorary registrar at Royal Preston Hospital in Preston, United Kingdom Dr. Patel completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency in 2005. He entered into private practice immediately out of residency and began working as an associate surgeon at Casas Adobes Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, P.C. in Tucson, Arizona.
Dr. Patel has been trained in a wide variety of contemporary Oral and Maxillofacial surgical procedures including: Surgical removal of impacted (wisdom) teeth, Intravenous Sedation and General Anesthesia, Dental Implants, Oral and Facial Trauma, Reconstructive Jaw Surgery, Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery, Oral and Facial pathology, and Facial Cosmetic Surgery.
Dr. Patel is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (Board Certified) and currently holds a medical license along with an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery permit in the state of California. He also has a Medical License in the state of Arizona and a dental license in the state of New York. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a member of the American Dental Association, California Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, Western Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, California Dental Association, Santa Barbara-Ventura County Dental Society, and numerous other organizations. He is certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
Dr. Patel and his wife Sony have two boys. They enjoy spending time with each other and with various family activities including reading, travel, hiking, swimming, golf, and other pursuits.
