I find that life is a challenge for most of us. Particularly trying to achieve a happy peaceful life. The allure of self medication to deal with life’s stressors is often a temptation, and addiction is such a very slippery slope. Just being human and living within our society creates obstacles to stress free living. I feel we need to embrace compassion and forgiveness, both for ourselves and for others in order to create a life with contentment and peace. My philosophy encompasses a holistic approach to treatment. We are complicated creatures and it has taken us many years of experiences and usually some trauma to become who we are now. In order to create contentment and peace in or lives and become better people, I believe in utilizing a creative approach to recovery, exploring alternative modalities as part of the healing process; including meditation, acupuncture, yoga, breathing exercises, visual imagery as well as medications and psychotherapy. I have experience with both inpatient and outpatient settings, rehab, detox, emergency room and private clinic. I am experienced in treating dual diagnosis patients with medication management and psychotherapy, including suboxone and specializing in professionals with addictions. Prior to entering the field of medicine, I worked for several years in the film industry and then transitioned back to school to pursue a degree in medicine. In my work within the field of addiction I have developed an appreciation for how multifaceted the disease is. I have worked to combine my experiences to create a holistic approach to medicine and addiction and life. Specialties: Addiction Psychiatry
